Transportation Options

A lot of people don't like to drive in a city. This can be a problem if you aren't aware of the other methods of getting around. In a large city such as Toronto there are usually several different modes of transportation one can use to get around the city easily. Even you if are selling vacuums in Toronto or trying to get to your dentist appointment you can get by without having to drive a car in the city. In fact, the employees at Uptown Yonge Dental say many of their patients rely on the TTC to get to their appointments without the hassle of traffic or parking prices.

The most obvious means of travelling around a city without driving a car is walking. If you don't have a long distance to go, or you are not in a rush, you might consider walking. This can be a great way to get to and from your job in Yorkville if you live close to where you work. Walking to work is healthy and relaxing, and doesn't cost anything.

Another great way to get around a city is to take the bus. You can likely find a bus route that will get you to and from your classes at George Brown College. In fact, one of the best things about taking the bus is that in most large cities that bus routes a well distributed and will take you almost anywhere you want to go. The major problem that most people have with taking the bus is that it can be slow. Because there are so many stops a trip that would be fast by car can be much longer on the bus.

If you don't want to take the bus, another option that is available in many large cities is the tram, or street car. If you are travelling to work out at at a gym in Toronto then a street car might be the right option for you. Street cars are usually a bit faster than the bus, but they are not generally as widely available as buses. They are best for destinations to fairly central areas and busy streets. You can often speed up a trip by taking a tram most of the way and taking a bus the distance that the trams doesn't cover.

A final method of getting around in a city such as Toronto, if you have no access to Uber and you don't want to have to drive your car in the city, is by subway. Subways are a great option for covering fairly long distances very quickly. There tend to be fewer subway stops located throughout a city, so subway travel is good if you destination is in a frequently visited area. You can also make part of your trip via subway and the rest via street car, bus, or walking.
